While I was walking with my dog Shimona recently, I noticed a tangled patch of flowers and leaves on the ground.
It was beautiful, mesmerizing.
I was inspired to draw it (photo below).
The words around my drawing say, “I embrace the messiness of life. There is beauty in the mess. Everything grows in its own divine timing, and so do I. I trust the process.“
Those affirmations are for me, but perhaps you’ll find them helpful, too.
As I continue to explore and learn about art, I learn many life lessons.
They aren’t really “new” lessons, but lessons that I seem to feel and process on a deeper level, and so they feel newly realized.
Embracing the messiness of life is something I have always resisted.
Messiness is something I have judged about myself and my family... and society.
But my recent art explorations are softening me and that resistance.
Art is helping me feel how everything flows together in a divinely messy-yet-perfect beautiful dance.
This realization is creating a deeper space of self-acceptance and self-love.
I was inspired to share this, because I know I am not the only one who resists the mess.
There is a lot of pressure in our society to appear “perfect,” and we all internalize this in our own unique way.
So I offer you these thoughts, and I hope that they feel like an invitation to embrace the messiness in your own life.
Know that you are beautiful, no matter where you are on your journey - on messy days and on organized ones.
Be kind to yourself.
Trust the process.
Enjoy the process.
Sometimes the process is messy, and that’s okay.
We are all right where we need to be.
Let your heart be your guide.
Somehow it all works out in the end. 💗

May you always feel the love that surrounds you.
