The more I explore art, the more strongly I feel how important it is for our mental and emotional health.

It is a wonderful way to decompress, and even better, art teaches us important lessons about life.

It teaches us to deeply appreciate the intricacies of the world, the magic of light, shadows, and color all magically dancing together to create forms.

It teaches us to value the process of becoming, to slow down and feel the fullness of each moment.

It teaches us that imperfections add to the beauty of the world… and ourselves.

It offers us a space to feel, process, and express our emotions in a healthy way.

I pray that more schools begin to value the arts.

The health and happiness of mankind will arise from artistic expression, not from competition and high pressure.

If you loved art as a child and disconnected from it, please make time to create, play, and learn.

The world needs more people who are playfully creating!

“The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to do creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time.”

- Mary Oliver

“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control,

shift your energy to what you can create.”

- Roy T. Bennett

My mom's lavender plant inspired me to draw/paint this yesterday.

I used watercolor and fine line black markers. 💜
